Floral flamingo.

I am wearing...
Top: Metallicus | Blazer: Myer | Pants: Dotti | Boots: Wittner | Belt: Sportsgirl | Necklace: Diva

I just realised something shocking; nothing I am wearing is an online purchase. Woah.

Again, these were shot quickly via my phone before I went out. Hence the quality. I am sorry okay?
I always never know how to pose for these things without looking or feeling like a wanker. Hence my awkward poses for the most part. Go me.

I picked up the pineapple necklace from Diva, of all places, last tuesday. As soon as I saw it I had to have it. If you follow me on tumblr, you will see that I have a penchant for anything a bit tropical and reminiscent of 1980's Miami.

Flamingos and neon lights,

Room 680.

I have always believed that your room is a place that should reflect you, and in turn, someone's room can tell you a lot about that individual.

I have always taken pride in my room, well my room when it is clean, and filled it with quirky little knick knacks for peoples viewing pleasure, but recently I had become unhappy with it. It was all looking rather drab.

My room before.

For ages I had a hot pink feature wall, which about two years ago I had the whole room re-painted white, for I was so sick of the pink. Since then it had remained white, I had hung various things up in an effort to brighten up the room a bit, as well as a Breakfast At Tiffanies movie print that I had sitting around from a past christmas. But even then the print looked lonesome and awkward.

So on the weekend, I decided to put an end to it.

The process...

The outcome...

The finished product.

It only took me a few hours. I measured out the stripes by hand and masking taped them.

I am so so so pleased with the outcome. The wall defiantly adds more character and a Parisian/60s feel. Oh so chic.
The stripes also give the illusion of the room being taller.

I even feel that I have to call it a "boudoir" now, not a "bedroom". Ha.

What's your favorite thing about your room?

Paint on,
Tori

My life in Instagram; June edition.

1. My 12 year old brother Alex | 2. Susie Bubble of the blog "Style Bubble" talking with head of fashion at RMIT | 3. Necklace from Asos | 4. Kate and I at a friends house | 5. Shoes on Smith Street | 6. Wildfox X Jeffrey Campbell Ballet Platforms | 7. Kate's tuxedo nails done by yours truly | 8. My floral print pant draw | 9. New bone shoes | 10. View over Smith street | 11. My iPhone cover | 12. Morning tea and book.

Just a few images of my life via Instagram over the last month or so.
I have been on holidays from uni and started a new job, which is located on Smith Street.
One of my favorite things to do over the last couple of weeks has been walk around and explore the street and little coffee shops before work in the mornings.
My bus gets in half an hour before I start, so I have the time to wander, however it is getting harder with the winter cold starting to kick in!
Recently I have been reading Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray", so I tend to try and get out of the cold, order some peppermint tea, and read my book for 20 minutes or so.

At the moment I am in the middle of cleaning out my closet, I have found that I have had to create a whole floral/patterned pant draw as I have so many. I have a problem.
I also covered my phone case in Harry Potter stickers, found them in a discount store after work one day, and the lovely, and oh so very very cute, guy behind the counter gave them to me half price!

ALSO! I went and saw Rock of Ages at the movies the other night!
I know it has been panned by critics, but I really enjoyed it! I mean, it wasn't a master piece, it was an easy, fun watch.

(Seriously, it had me wanting to go back to 1980's LA rock scene, get a rookie rocker boyfriend and become a stripper.)

I thought everyones performances were great, stand outs being Russell Brand, Cathy Z, Mary J, Diego Boneta, and of course, Tom Cruise! I know, shocker. I thought he was fab though, and he can sing (and had a sort of charisma about him that I am ashamed to admit - I would go there)!
I feel bad singling them all out, as I thought everyone was great - with the exception of Alec Baldwin. Him I just wasn't impressed with.

And the music was great, loved it. I had to download it the next day as I had them in my head.
Highlights for me had to be the musical numbers "Any Way You Want It", "Dead or Alive", "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "We Built This City/We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Want To Know What Love Is".

AND OF COURSE Diego Boneta.
One of those times you come out of the movie slightly depressed because you have slightly fallen in love with the leading man. He was just so beautiful.

Anyway, Go see this film if you just want a good time that you don't have to think too much about.

Stay Classy,
Tori

Change is in the hair.

So guys, I did something a little drastic, well drastic for me....

I cut and coloured my hair!

This is a big thing for me as I have pretty much never done anything to my hair after a couple of bad haircuts, and I am too impatient to have to wait and fix my hair/grow it out if anything goes wrong.

I originally was going to dye the whole thing lilac. I was so set on it, I even photoshopped images of my face with purple hair and went and tried on a lilac wig at a costume shop. I know, I am a loser and pedantic.
But after much anxiety over it the night before, I got to the salon and they did not have the dye. So I settled for the "ombre" style in stead. I know, jumping on the bandwagon much? Kinda disappointed in myself, but I have wanted to do it for ages and I am planning on dying it many different colours.

Mum has always wanted me to get a fringe, and after much resistance, I gave in. I actually kinda like it, it's just that it is going to be a bitch to maintain.

Hope your week has been grand! Also, excuse my Pj's in the second photo.

Peace and pout out readers!

June Wishlist.

Top: Truly madly deeply shroom muscle top - Urban Outfitters. | Asos March Leather Brouges - Asos. | Piers Atkinson for Asos cartoon eyes pom pom beanie - Asos | We Who See Knot wedge - Urban Outfitters. | Oversized sleeveless biker jacket - Topshop. | Metallic silver shopper - Topshop. | Lace Peter Pan dress in lilac - Topshop. | Flower & Jewel drop earrings - Asos.

So here is a peak of my June wish list, hint, dad.
As you can see I am still lusting after the pale neon yellows.
Absolutely in love with the hawaiian print wedge from Urban Outfitters - I love me a tropical print.

I am thinking, and planning to, dye my hair lilac in the coming weeks, and I keep imagining dressing in a lilac dress to match my new locks, and this one fits the bill perfectly.

I also started a new job the other day! It is doing a bit of online research and it is some good experience. The office is on Smith Street, so I am enjoying exploring the little alleys, cafes and vintage stores!
As I am planning to go away next year, you can understand how the location is not helping my saving efforts!

What are you lusting after this June?

Working Girl.

So the other day I started a new job that will pretty much run all day, everyday, from 9am till 4pm on weekdays. Say "day" one more time.

Anyway, this gave me an excuse to breakout my new silver jumper and floral pants for the occasion.

I will apologise for two things; 1. The crappy photo webcam quality. And 2. It's not a proper full length photo, soz.

Anyway, the jumper was purchased from Jayjay's on sale for $20, hold for gasps of shock, and the pants are from Dotti.
I was very surprised with these two pieces as I do not normally shop in either of those stores.

Can I just note the satisfaction I felt when I purchased my discounted jumper and then found one EXACTLY the same from the store Glue for over $100? Boo. Yah.

I have a DIY in the works for y'all in the coming days to make up for my lack of posts.
I am a bad blogger.

I think I really need to work on a signing out line - Tori.

Under The Sea.

Today my Topshop package finally arrived in the mail! Much excitement was had!

I thought I would share with you my purchases!

Fish tank print by Tea & Cake.

I instantly fell in love with this top when I saw it. I am so into photographic prints at the moment and I loved the colours, so I had to have it.

Love heart crop tee.

I posted about this a few weeks back. After finding I was still lusting over it, into the cart it went.

Flamingo Collar.

It's big. It's gold. It's pink. And it features flamingos, enough said.

Aqua envelope coin purse.

The holographic finish and aqua colour put together reminded me of the 90's. It is also a futuristic version of a 'turquoise envelope.' HA HA HEE HA.

Gold glitter stick.

Look, again, 90's nostalgia was the victim for this.

All up it was a pretty successful order. In love with everything. One of those times when you get new clothing items and you love them so much that it feels as if the only things that exist in your wardrobe are those new items.

Also, how adorable is the tag that came on the fish tank print by Tee & Cake?! It has a recipe for a butter cake on it! so cute!

you guys purchased anything good lately??

Always the bridesmaid reluctant wedding guest, never the bride.

So, last weekend,(I think, I lost count, yay uni student life!), my lovely second cousin Sarah got married!
I have never really been to a wedding before, I mean I have, but I was waaaaay to young to appreciate it and really take the whole thing in properly, and most of my friends are way to young to be married, so this was a bit of a first.

Anyway, as soon as I got word of the engagement, I eagerly started thinking about what to wear.
I knew white or creams were out of the question for fear of upstaging the bride, which I am told that this rule is out of date? I disagree. So something more subtle was needed, so what did I decide on wearing? This quiet little neon yellow number of course!

Pictured: Modern day Bonnie and Clyde, minus the Clyde.

I am wearing: Necklace: Quick Brown Fox | Dress: Asos| Shoes: Topshop "Glacier" heels | Bracelet: christmas gift.

Excuse me looking like a Cod (I couldn't find a politically correct way of describing my retar- weird person look going on) , my mother forced me into having my hair straitened for the occasion and I don't like how it falls so flat around my face.
humph.

Pictured: Father is getting arty.

Anyway, I really loved the colour of the dress and how it had layers of lace and such, I mean neon lace, really? REALLY?? I LOVE YOU ASOS BUT MY WALLET DOESN'T!
I wanted a classy look for the occasion, which I felt I achieved, look it's not hard when the wedding guests are mainly from ocean grove, I went from regular uni student/"style blogger" to someone who looks like a member of the ladies who lunch gang.

Anyway, I am heading to a fashion show for L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week on tuesday night! Very excited! Street Style Photogs come at me! (But really, otherwise I will feel like I have failed as a style blogger, me cryes.)

ta taaaaaa my little chickes and chickos!

0 point 5.

It was my Mum's 50th birthday last week and we headed out to dinner to celebrate!
Here are a couple of shots my dad nabbed whilst we were waiting to leave.
As you can see, the Asos floral pants are back with a vengeance! I have to say they are one of my absolute favorite pieces from my wardrobe right now.

Pictured: Necklace: Topshop | Camisole: Glassons | lace cardigan: Asos | Pants: Asos | Shoes: Therapy

Fun fact about the shoes I am wearing; they are actually two sizes too small for me! They may look fabulous, but my god they do hurt!
I came across them whilst I was on schoolies, the last orange ones and in a size 8, they were the closest ones to my size (I am usually a 9 or 10). I loved them so much, and for the cheap price they were, I brought them anyway!
And no matter how much they hurt - I still love them!

Uni has been good this week! tomorrow my friend Liss is coming around and we are doing an DIY collar day! So that should be fun! Pictures are ensured!

Sorry Kids.

My dear it has been a few days hasn't it?! My apologies, I started uni on monday and have been working on my days off and have been exhausted in the meantime. Here are a few photos so that you can see what I have been up to!

Pictured: Summer Berries.

Pictured: Melbourne street art.

Pictured: A drawing I was working on.

Pictured: Purchased this the other day after uni! It is amazing, not as good as seeing it live, but still amazing!

Pictured: Awesome glass bottle of water I purchased near Hardware Lane. I am going to use it as a water bottle.

So far Uni is great. Everyone is super nice, I am loving my subjects and the classes feel so short! I am also adoring being in the city! The only problems are that it is so tempting to go shopping every day I am in there! I am based right near Bourke street mall, so you kinda get the picture.

To market, to market...

For the first time in a long time, I finally got myself down to camberwell market bright and early last sunday to have a look through the stalls.
There was a time I spent basically every sunday morning there, but with VCE last year, that kind of put it on hold for awhile.

Anyway, here are some snaps of my purchases. I am so annoyed as I couldn't find the other ring that is a replica of the YSL "Arty" ring in gold and coral (snagged for $5) for the photos, and of course when I packed away my camera and downloaded the pictures I found it. Oh woe is me.

Pictured: Mary Antoinette wall hanging, $10 | Bag of gold crosses, $5 | Ring, $15

I can't wait to use the crosses for a couple of DIY projects I must say! There was also a Charles and Diana commemorative wedding plate I came across and wanted as soon as I spotted it, but for $35 I decided against it... Kinda regretting it now. I am a sucker for the royals.
