The other night we headed out for my friend Bronte's 19th birthday. It was a cold and wintery night, so I rocked these pants. 

Believe it or not, these pants are actually my Mum's. She brought them back from a trip to China and upon seeing them in her suitcase and finding out they were actually meant for her, not me, I said to her, "you know how I feel about floral and tropicana prints and you bought them for you?". 

It's safe to say she is yet to wear them. 

The shoes are my latest Jeffrey Campbell purchase, for awhile nothing of his had been catching my eye, but the Brazen changed that. 

It also came in silver, but I am in a total rose gold moment at the moment, aaaand they didn't have the silver in my size. Wah.

But the shoes themselves are so comfy, that when the silver does come back in stock on Solestruck, I may have to get them also.

Summer is just around the corner and I am slowly gearing up for summer styles I want to add to my wardrobe.

I just realised something shocking; nothing I am wearing is an online purchase. Woah.

Again, these were shot quickly via my phone before I went out. Hence the quality. I am sorry okay?

I always never know how to pose for these things without looking or feeling like a wanker. Hence my awkward poses for the most part. Go me.

I picked up the pineapple necklace from Diva, of all places, last tuesday. As soon as I saw it I had to have it. If you follow me on tumblr, you will see that I have a penchant for anything a bit tropical and reminiscent of 1980's Miami.

Last Tango In Paris.

I picked this skirt up in a little vintage store on Brunswick Street a while back. It was only an elastic waist skirt, but I became obsessed with the print upon further inspection, finding that it featured the Eiffel Tower! 

I completely forgot about it until I was cleaning out my wardrobe the other day and found it hidden beneath various other items. 

Obviously I wore it the very next time I went out!

Heading into the winter months here in Australia, I have been needing to rug up more and more. I got this Dangerfield jumper the other day, and I haven't taken it off since.

And to finish off the look I threw on a simple gold chain that actually came with a pendant that I got from a store in Europe a couple of years ago.

I wore this outfit out for dinner the other night with my school friends. It was obviously before I got my hair done, I have just been avoiding doing this post as I was disappointed with the image quality, it was uploading weirdly. 

You can see me here poking fun at the fact I have an underwater scenery on my top by re-enacting swimming movements. I am too cool.

I am about to go clean out my wardrobe now. Lord knows it needs it.

Working Girl.

So the other day I started a new job that will pretty much run all day, everyday, from 9am till 4pm on weekdays. Say "day" one more time. 

Anyway, this gave me an excuse to breakout my new silver jumper and floral pants for the occasion.

I will apologise for two things; 1. The crappy photo webcam quality. And 2. It's not a proper full length photo, soz.

Anyway, the jumper was purchased from Jayjay's on sale for $20, hold for gasps of shock, and the pants are from Dotti.

I was very surprised with these two pieces as I do not normally shop in either of those stores. 

Can I just note the satisfaction I felt when I purchased my discounted jumper and then found one EXACTLY the same from the store Glue for over $100? Boo. Yah. 

I have a DIY in the works for y'all in the coming days to make up for my lack of posts. 

I am a bad blogger.

Sex Cocktails in the city

So last night I headed into the city with my pals Jc and Bees for a night of girly cocktails and chit chat.

We hit up regular favorite Tony Starr's Kitten Club and Gin Palace, both located on Little Collins street.

I always find that when a group of 3 or 4 girls get together, conversation always leads to which Sex & The City girl each one is.

No matter what group I am in, I am always the Charlotte. Not by choice, but I guess that is just who I am. Always.

Then there is always the clear Samantha girl, and then the last two girls are left fighting over Carrie, not wanting to be Miranda. Poor Miranda. 

Anyway, although it may seem like I am a bit of a Charlotte, I like to think I dress like a Carrie. 

Which was the case last night as I got to break out my new ASOS faux fur coat that I got on sale and incidentally purchased because it reminded me of the fur coat Carrie always wore in the earlier seasons of the show.

Writing all that down I find it slightly embarrassing, not in a bad way, that so much of my outfit is from Asos. 

Obviously I am addicted and need to attend AA meetings, Asos-aholics Anonymous. Ha. 

I went pretty simple as it was a cold and rainy Melbourne night, but I glamed it up with the necklaces, the coat and Litas. 

I also had the most delicious cocktail at Tony Starr's Kittens Club. 

It was called "Just Desserts" and it tasted exactly like lemon cheesecake - a favorite of mine!

I wore this outfit to uni last week on a day where it was warm, but a little cold (classic Melbourne weather) - hence the socks. 

I made the sequin "third eye" top myself (there's a diy coming up on it soon), after being inspired by this tunic. I was too lazy to make more eyes, so one will have to do.  

I must say, one of the best purchases I have ever made is that denim jacket. It is defiantly a wardrobe staple, everyone should have one. 

It's usually my "go to" jacket when wanting to keep a look casual, but still put together.

I really liked this outfit all up. 

My sister and mum call the skirt I am wearing my "pirate skirt", and if thats the case, sign me up and have me swab the decks! 

In other unrelated news, I really need some new footwear. 

Not in the going out form, I have way too many options there, but in a casual sense.

Usually I just live in black flats, but I am so hard on them, they don't last more than a month. 

I am thinking of investing in a pair of boots, come creepers and maybe a couple of new pairs of oxfords.

What are your "go to" winter shoes? Any recommendations??

Always the bridesmaid reluctant wedding guest, never the bride.

So, last weekend,(I think, I lost count, yay uni student life!), my lovely second cousin Sarah got married!
I have never really been to a wedding before, I mean I have, but I was waaaaay to young to appreciate it and really take the whole thing in properly, and most of my friends are way to young to be married, so this was a bit of a first.

Anyway, as soon as I got word of the engagement, I eagerly started thinking about what to wear.
I knew white or creams were out of the question for fear of upstaging the bride, which I am told that this rule is out of date? I disagree. So something more subtle was needed, so what did I decide on wearing? This quiet little neon yellow number of course!

Anyway, I really loved the colour of the dress and how it had layers of lace and such, I mean neon lace, really? REALLY?? I LOVE YOU ASOS BUT MY WALLET DOESN'T!
I wanted a classy look for the occasion, which I felt I achieved, look it's not hard when the wedding guests are mainly from ocean grove, I went from regular uni student/"style blogger" to someone who looks like a member of the ladies who lunch gang.

Anyway, I am heading to a fashion show for L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week on tuesday night! Very excited! Street Style Photogs come at me! (But really, otherwise I will feel like I have failed as a style blogger, me cryes.)

It was my Mum's 50th birthday last week and we headed out to dinner to celebrate!
Here are a couple of shots my dad nabbed whilst we were waiting to leave.
As you can see, the Asos floral pants are back with a vengeance! I have to say they are one of my absolute favorite pieces from my wardrobe right now.

Fun fact about the shoes I am wearing; they are actually two sizes too small for me! They may look fabulous, but my god they do hurt!
I came across them whilst I was on schoolies, the last orange ones and in a size 8, they were the closest ones to my size (I am usually a 9 or 10). I loved them so much, and for the cheap price they were, I brought them anyway!
And no matter how much they hurt - I still love them!

Uni has been good this week! tomorrow my friend Liss is coming around and we are doing an DIY collar day! So that should be fun! Pictures are ensured!

Running errands.

As the title says, this is a basic outfit that I wore today whilst running errands. Sorry about the blurry photo booth pictures.
It was boiling today, and I made a compromise with myself this morning that if I didn't go to the gym, I would ride my bike to do my errands, so I needed something lightweight and preferably of the pant variety, so these pants were perfect.

I picked up these pants whilst I was on schoolies in Byron Bay. I instantly fell in love with the pattern, and adored the colour palette, so rhetorically they had to be mine. They are now my number one go to when I get home and want some comfort! The top is from General Pants basics, sunglasses are another schoolies purchase and jelly sandals from a kids shoe shop on Glenferrie road! I originally purchased an orange pair of the sandals and loved them so much I went and purchased these green ones!

The Importance of being earnest.

So last night I headed off with my friends Jc and Kate to see the final performance of Oscar Wilde's "The Importance Of Being Earnest" at Melbourne Theatre Company, directed by Simon Phillips.

I always dress according to what mood I am in. So having been cleaning my room all day, I really did not know what I felt like wearing, which led me to have a text conversation with my friend Kate that went like this:




Anyway, the point is I think I ended up settling for something in between.

The pants are apart of the pant suit that I posted earlier about and the jacket I scored on sale from sportsgirl for like $40, bargain! The shoes are from Topshop, I fell inlove with them ages ago and didn't get around to purchasing them before the sold out and I mourned the loss of them, that was untill they kindly restocked them and they were mine. My precious. I love all the pastels that are coming in at the moment, it makes everything feel like a constant serene easter bunny meets my little pony vibe. Yeah, I went there, a serene easter bunny meets my little pony vibe. Sorry about the bad picture quality, I had to get Kate to take the picture on my phone as I didnt get a chance to take a photo on my camera before we left.

Anyway, the show was amazing and the set blew my mind, It was a giant book with various settings on different pages that changed, like a pop up book and all in black and white illustrations. Also, Geoffrey Rush played Lady Bracknell and my golly gosh he was superb! As was the rest of the cast!

I think my highlight of the night was Meeting the director, Simon Phillips. Jc, Kate and I are massive fans, we all adored his production of "Hamlet" last year at MTC, and what he did with Love Never Dies, giving it the life it deserved, was phenomenal. At intermission we waited for a moment to politely interrupt, we were freaking out the whole time, people probably thought we were deranged. Anyway, when we actually did interupt he was charming and really friendly and we pretty much told him that he is god and that we all love theatre and kate told him she wanted to be a director and JC an actress and I fan girled over love never dies and told him I saw it three times and at the final show I sat in the very back row and bawled my eyes out with my binoculars by myself and he loved it! And then we fangirled about Hamlet and how it is my favorite shakespeare and about the scene transition when Hamlet is running through the castle and he spat the water - it was amazing. He seemed genuinely chuffed and thankfull. Probably because we are of a younger generation than he is used to loving his work. Other people would of thought we were such strange people, but you could tell he understood us, he is a theatre geek to I guess in a way! When we got back to out seats we were all shaking like loons and when we were talking to him I thought I would burst into tears. hahaha,

I am back to work tomorrow, le sigh, so can not be bothered.
